JANUARY/2011: (Left) Dr. Judith Beck was introduced to participants in the Beck Supervision Program at the January 24 – 25, 2011, Workshop held at Beck Institute. The workshop was attended by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, professors, physicians, counselors and other mental health professionals. Participants traveled from Brazil, Canada, Greece, and ten U.S. states. Professional training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for anxiety disorders was provided by Beck Institute faculty members Leslie Sokol, Ph.D., Norman Cotterell, Ph.D., and Cory F. Newman, Ph.D., as well as Beck Scholars Jasper Smits, Ph.D., Michelle Newman, Ph.D., Patrick Link, M.D., MPH, Evelyn Behar, Ph.D., and Philippe Goldin, Ph.D.
Many topics were covered, including conceptualization and treatment for: General Anxiety Disorder; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Post-traumatic Stress Disorder; Avoidant Personality Disorder; Panic Disorder; and Social Phobia. Techniques to cognitively conceptualize a case, and CBT interventions, to use with patients in treatment, were emphasized.
